New To Auctions?
Intro to Buying
Auctions are an incredible way to buy unique, significant, one-of-a-kind items. If this is your first time buying, welcome! We’re glad you’re here. From auction novice to auction expert, there are only four steps. Let us guide you through them:
1-. Register
Create an account at Colonial Auctions Trujillo (new bidders only). You can do so here and to do so you must read our terms of service. Once you have an account, you can register for the auctions you are interested in bidding on.
Registration takes 3 minutes and includes entering your shipping and payment information. Once your registration is approved, you will receive an email letting you know you are ready to bid.
Our auctions are held online and are open to bidding for two weeks. You can submit your highest bid on an item at any time or wait until the last night of the auction when bidding is most active.
In addition to bidding online, you can bid at Colonial Auctions Trujillo auctions or you can email your best bid to info@colonialesauction.com
Important note before bidding: Auction winners, in addition to their highest bid amount, pay a 15% buyer’s premium (this fee helps keep the lights on at Colonial Auctions Trujillo). So, if you are the highest bidder for $2000 worth of a beautiful Pablo Picasso Oil on Canvas Painting, your bill would be $2300 after including the buyer’s premium.
2-. Bid
3-. Pay
Once you have bid and won that beautiful Pablo Picasso Oil Painting on Canvas, (or whatever item makes your heart beat a little faster), payment is due within five business days of the auction. We will email you an invoice that includes your winning bids with buyer’s premium and applicable sales tax if applicable plus shipping fee. We accept credit cards, debit cards, wire transfers, and link payments. Colonial Auctions Trujillo will hold lots until payments have cleared the bank. Colonial Auctions Trujillo requires wire transfer or ACH for items sold over $3000. Unpaid invoices will automatically be charged to the credit card on file on the sixth business day following the auction.
Once you have paid your invoice, Colonial Auctions Trujillo will proceed to manage the shipping of your lot(s) accordingly. Prior arrangements will be made with the auction house by emailing support@colonialesauction.com to coordinate the shipping company, namely DHL Express, Fedex, EMS.
